Follow this link for more information about Title I in Miami Dade County Public Schools: http://title1.dadeschools.net/titleI.asp“On January 8, 2002, President Bush signed into law the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). NCLB is based on four basic principles that have led to higher standards and increased achievement. These principles are stronger accountability for results, greater flexibility for States and Communities, more choices for parents, and an emphasis on teaching methods that have been proven to work. Title I is the part of NCLB that supports programs in schools and school districts to improve the learning of children from low income families. Title I is the largest federally funded education program designed to provide students with additional help in reading, language arts and math.
The Title I Program is committed to helping schools close the achievement gap between disadvantaged and minority students and their peers. This site is designed to supply users with information relevant to Title I in order to provide a clear understanding of the overall program.”
